Most tryout apps are built for every sport, so softball coaches end up building their own rubric. What the tryout needs
Softball stations from the start
A TryoutSheet softball tryout starts with nine stations: hitting, exit velocity, infield defense, outfield defense, arm velocity, pitching velocity (from the circle), catcher pop time, home to first and athleticism. It uses home to first instead of the 60-yard dash, and you can add pitching strikes out of 10, pitching mechanics, catcher receiving or your own stations.
Pitchers and catchers measured
Pitching velocity and pop time are measured stations that keep the best of three reps, and they go onto each player’s measurables over time, so next year’s tryout shows the change.
Video of every swing and throw
Clips are tied to the player, the station and the rep, kept on the player’s profile with the family’s consent, and deleted for players who aren’t selected after the club’s window unless the family keeps them.
Kind offers and cuts
Offer, waitlist and cut emails go from the draft board; families answer in one tap. Parents never pay.
