SkillShark review
By the TryoutSheet team · Updated
SkillShark is an easy-to-start evaluation app with a real free plan, per-athlete pricing and integrations with TeamSnap, SportsEngine and TeamLinkt. The catch is that the tools most tryouts want (draft mode, leaderboards, check-in, messaging, Pocket Radar) are on the $10-per-athlete All-Star plan, so large tryouts add up.
We make TryoutSheet, a tryout tool for baseball and softball, so read this with that in mind. Everything below about SkillShark comes from its own public pages, linked at the bottom of the table.
What it costs
Prospect is free for 25 players, one group, one event and two evaluators. Rookie is $5 USD per athlete a year, All-Star $10 and Legend $15, sold in blocks of 25 athletes, billed yearly. AI Swing Score for baseball and softball is an add-on.
What you get
Rookie adds unlimited groups, events and evaluators, weighted reports, Excel export and the TeamSnap, SportsEngine and TeamLinkt integrations. All-Star adds comparison and draft reports, self-assessments, attendance, Score Overview (with video), leaderboards, the Message Center, player check-in, draft mode and Pocket Radar. Legend adds an API and white-label reports.
The app scores 0–10 ratings and measured values, adds walk-ons on the fly and supports offline use; evaluators can take videos.
What the app reviews say
The iPhone app has 4.1 stars from 26 ratings. The reviews we read praise its support and the emailed score breakdowns parents receive; we didn’t see complaints among them.

Questions
Is SkillShark worth it?
For multi-sport clubs and anyone using its integrations, it’s good value at $5 per athlete. If you need draft tools and messaging for a big baseball tryout, compare the $10-per-athlete total with a flat per-team price.
Does SkillShark work offline?
Yes, its App Store listing says offline use is supported.
