TeamGenius review
By the TryoutSheet team · Updated
TeamGenius is a mature, multi-sport evaluation tool with unlimited evaluators on every plan and team formation built in. It’s priced for organizations, from $1,050 USD a year, and several things tryouts need (video below Pro, offer tracking and live drafting below Elite) are add-ons. Great for large clubs; expensive for a single baseball or softball team.
We make TryoutSheet, a tryout tool for baseball and softball, so read this with that in mind. Everything below about TeamGenius comes from its own public pages, linked at the bottom of the table.
What it costs
Self Starter $1,050 a year (up to 150 athletes), Starter+ $1,500 (500), Pro $2,900 (1,000), Elite $6,500 (unlimited per location), billed yearly, in USD or CAD. There’s a 14-day free trial for up to 20 players. Add-on prices aren’t published.
What you get
Every plan has unlimited evaluators, team formation tools, bulk messaging and email templates. The app rates custom criteria, records times, reps, distance and velocity, takes notes, photos and video, and lists an offline mode. Evaluators log in with an access key.
What the app reviews say
The iPhone app has 4.1 stars from 36 ratings. Reviews are mostly positive, with praise for support; the complaints we read were about video being tricky to upload and view and wanting more flexible reporting.

Questions
Is TeamGenius worth it?
For a large multi-sport club, often yes: one system, unlimited evaluators, team formation. For one or two baseball or softball teams, the $1,050 starting price and add-ons are a lot; per-athlete or per-team tools cost less.
Does TeamGenius have a free plan?
No, a 14-day free trial for up to 20 players.
