Price
TeamGenius sells by organization: $1,050 USD a year for up to 150 athletes, up to $6,500 for unlimited athletes at one location. Its lowest plan doesn’t include photo and video, and offer tracking and live drafting are add-ons until Elite.
TryoutSheet is free for one tryout of up to 25 players, then one flat price per team per season, with video, rankings and offer emails in every plan.
Scoring at the field
Both score on phones and both list an offline mode. TryoutSheet’s stations come preset for baseball and softball (exit velocity, arm and pitching velocity, pop time, 60-yard dash, home to first, plus 1–5 rated skills) and an evaluator can be locked to one station. TeamGenius uses custom criteria with ratings and measured values, across eight sports.
Video
TryoutSheet ties each clip to a player, a station and a rep, and keeps it on the player’s profile after tryouts (with the family’s consent). TeamGenius includes photo and video from its Pro plan ($2,900 a year) and offers it as an add-on on Starter+.
After tryouts
TryoutSheet carries the players you pick into the season roster with contacts and attendance, and each player keeps a profile with measurables over time and school details. TeamGenius focuses on evaluation and team formation; its athlete portal is listed as coming soon.
