SkillShark lists Excel data export on its Rookie plan and up, and its guide to weighted reports says you can download a report or export it to CSV. It doesn’t publish steps for exporting the whole player list. The dependable route: export a report to CSV for your records, take names, birth dates and parent contacts from it (or from the spreadsheet you first loaded into SkillShark), and paste them into a TryoutSheet tryout.

## 1. Export from SkillShark

1. In SkillShark’s web app, open Reports from the left-hand navigation and scroll down to Weighted Reports.
2. Click Create Report, name it, switch on the skills you want in it and set their weights, then click Save to run it.
3. Download the report or export it to CSV, and keep the file: it’s your record of the scores.
4. For the player list, check which columns the export has. If it doesn’t include birth dates or parent emails, use the registration spreadsheet you loaded into SkillShark, or the Excel export your plan includes.

Steps 1 to 3 come from SkillShark’s weighted reports guide and its pricing page, checked October 29, 2026. SkillShark doesn’t publish which columns its exports contain or steps for a full player-list export, and we haven’t run them on a SkillShark account. Its support team can confirm. ## 2. Import into TryoutSheet

1. Start free, then create your club, the team and its tryout.
2. Open the export in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets and arrange five columns in this order: first name, last name, birth date (2012-05-03 works), parent or guardian email, parent or guardian name. Only the names are required.
3. Take out commas inside a cell (“Smith, Jr.” becomes “Smith Jr.”): the import splits each line on tabs and commas.
4. Copy the rows. A header row is fine; a first line that starts with “First” is skipped.
5. In TryoutSheet, open the tryout’s Players & check-in tab, paste into Paste a list, and click Import players.
6. Leave “Email each family for consent” ticked. Each family gets a link to approve the player’s profile, clips and school details; until they do, clips can’t be uploaded.

Players › Paste a list. A header row is skipped; each family gets a consent email. ([screenshot](https://tryoutsheet.com/screens/paste-list.jpg): Paste a list: one player per line from a spreadsheet with first name, last name, birth date, parent email and parent name)

We ran these import steps on a local TryoutSheet build with demo players on October 29, 2026. On the free plan the import stops at 25 players per tryout.

## What moves

- Player first and last names
- Birth dates
- A parent or guardian’s email and name
- Returning players: a name and birth date that match a player already in your club reuse that profile instead of making a copy

## What stays in SkillShark

- Scores, rankings and evaluation history
- Evaluator notes
- Photos and video
- Team assignments and offer status

Keep the export file as your record.

## Questions

### Can I export from SkillShark’s free plan?

Its pricing page lists Excel data export from the Rookie plan ($5 USD per athlete a year) up; the free Prospect plan doesn’t list it. If you started free, use the spreadsheet you loaded your players from.

### Will my SkillShark scores come across?

No. TryoutSheet imports the player list. Keep SkillShark’s report export as your record of past scores; measurables recorded in TryoutSheet build each player’s history from your first tryout on.

### Does TryoutSheet sync with TeamSnap like SkillShark does?

No. TryoutSheet has no integrations yet; it keeps the roster, contacts and attendance itself. If you rely on SkillShark’s TeamSnap, SportsEngine or TeamLinkt sync, that’s a reason to stay.
